In a political science analysis, it could be said that the part corresponding to statuary sculpture has been created to show grandeur, maintain memory and make reference to power structures. Taking this idea as a basis, adopting the striking appearance of classical sculpture and parodying its canon of beauty, the series A Treatise on Aesthetics attempts to make visible within the Salvadoran context, those who have been left out of the benefits of global capitalism: Peasants, day laborers, rural women who, transforming themselves for a few moments into works of art, focus our attention, speak to us and guide us through their living spaces, through the socio-economic and environmental conditions that shape their bodies.
